If you can access the SkillQuest app, you can schedule account deletion from Settings > Account deletion. Your account and data will be permanently deleted after 7 days (you can cancel during this period). If you can't access the app, you can request deletion by email.
Request deletion by email (if you can't access the app)
Send your request to hello@skill-quest.app. We'll confirm and process your request as soon as possible.
How to request account deletion
- Send an email to hello@skill-quest.app from the email address associated with your SkillQuest account.
- Use the subject: "SkillQuest account deletion request".
- Include the following in your email:
- Your SkillQuest account email address
- Your platform (Android/iOS)
- Optional: your username/user ID and any additional details that can help us locate your account
- To protect your account, we may ask you to verify ownership before deletion.
- We will confirm receipt and then process the deletion request.
What will be deleted
- Your account and profile information (e.g., email, display name, avatar).
- Your skills and progress stored in our backend (sessions, XP, streaks and history).
- Your social data stored in our backend (friends, challenges, messages).
- Push notification tokens linked to your account.
What we may retain
Some information may be retained if required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
- Payment and transaction records managed by app stores and payment providers (e.g., purchase receipts).
- Subscription status is managed by Google Play / Apple. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions; please cancel in the store if needed.
- Support communications (e.g., emails) for up to 2 years for customer support purposes.
- Security and fraud-prevention logs as needed to keep our services safe.
- Aggregated and anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to you.
How long does it take?
In-app deletion requests are scheduled for deletion after 7 days. Email requests are typically handled within 30 days.
If we need to retain certain information, we will explain what we keep and why.
